SOCIAL MEDIA AND SETTING BOUNDARIES

In this world shaken by inventions, it is important to ensure that these technological inventions and innovations cannot distract us to the point of deviating from our goals in several areas of life.

Social media are web applications that allow us to digitally connect individuals or entities with each other. People share informations there and use it in various constructive and even destructive ways.

These people generally have interests that they pursue and make many things easier within a specific group. Companies use them for visibility, and authors, actors, public figures… also find them to sell their images, their visibility and many other reasons…

Today, these tools are of great importance on one hand, but they also become a danger on the other, and in this series, we want to set boundaries and thus avoid addiction to social media. For this, in our first part, it will be a question to ask ourselves as well as answers to help us avoid and especially stop social media addiction.

Attention engineers are people who use psychological techniques to create strategies aimed at manipulating people’s attention. They work for companies, often social media platforms, to make their products more addictive and more profitable.

Attention engineers use various tactics to manipulate people.

Humans love to communicate, rejoice in news, share common passions, work, and have fun together. Certainly, there is nothing wrong at first glance with this list of common interests, but it can also make people vulnerable to attacks by social engineering experts.

It is precisely there that cybercriminals take advantage by studying various aspects of human behavior to use them in a way that harms through cunning, impersonation, and threats, pushing people to take actions that will benefit the scammers. They often impersonate family members, church members, colleagues, or authority figures.

Sometimes, they even impersonate police officers, immediately establishing trust with their target through various means such as digital communications, phone calls, emails, texts, or in person. As soon as you trust them, they seek to obtain confidential information, such as personal or financial data.

Attention! because by trying to pay too much attention to the slightest alerts from these engineers, you risk finding yourself in unfortunate situations.

Ask God for help if you cannot get out of it and you always fall into the trap of the enemy and his addictions.
