“For some time now, I have felt led to share with you, dear parents, an essential topic for the well-being of your families, and especially your children. The new generation is at the heart of my concerns, which is why we are beginning a series of articles addressing various areas of family and spiritual life.”
“We are living in a time when time is precious. The enemy knows it, and the Word of God urges us to redeem the time, for the days are evil (Ephesians 5:16). Now more than ever, it is time to teach with wisdom and intention.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
“Our new and deeply important series will focus on money.
Our hearts naturally tend to be drawn to and captivated by what we love. And what we love, we invest our time, our energy, and often our resources into.”
“Jesus invites us not to set our hearts on temporary things, but to invest in what is eternal — the things of God, which never perish. If the things of God are our treasure, then our heart will fully belong to Him, the Author of all wealth.”
“As Jesus said: ‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.’ (Matthew 6:33)”
Why address money matters in a parenting course?
“Quite simply because God Himself speaks abundantly on this topic in His Word. After some research, I found that the word ‘money’ is mentioned over a hundred times in the sense of currency.”
Some Bible verses that talk about money and what they teach us:
- « For the love of money is the root of all evil… » 1 Timothée 6:10
Money itself is not bad, nor is wealth a sin. However, it is the excessive attachment to money — when it becomes an obsession or a source of identity — that can lead us astray, and it can also mislead our children, for they watch us and imitate.
This disproportionate love for wealth can lead us to compromise, covetousness, pride, and even a distance from God. It can corrupt our hearts and distort our priorities, causing us to lose what is most valuable: our relationship with God.
